GOT Thoughts

For what it's worth, I consider the last episode (Season 6 Episode 7) one of the best ever. Random thoughts on the show vs. the book, and how sometimes the show is better:

-the show does more with the Queen of Thorns. She is stellar in ways that she is not in the books. Her diatribe against Cersei was one of the finest monologues of the story. -the show offers a better Jaime Lannister, and his friends and foils: the show has Bronn, who is missing really from the book, and the parley with the Blackfish is better in the show than book.

-the Yara/Asha figure is a bit more prominent. She has a better monologue about pinecones in the Kingsmoot in the book, but plays a larger figure in the show.

-The Septon Maribauld (Ian McShane) figure was phenomenal. There was apparently some controversy because the show is called "The Broken Man" but Septon Maribauld did not deliver the full broken man speech. Apparently Ian McShane taped the full thing but it got cut. Too bad, since he is such a fine actor.
