Soupe à l'oignon et Leffe Brun pour une journée grise à Paris

Oh, the sublime deliciousness of Soupe à l'oignon (French Onion Soup).  A giant bowl of brown broth with hints of garlic, cognac and wine.  Swimming soft slivered caramelized onions covered in a gooey Gruyère shell.  Enjoyed with a goblet of Leffe Brune.  Quite a way to work the grey day away from my virtual Parisian office at Cafe Mucha.

Hate to break it to you, but usually the broth is beef.

God is a Frenchman, he will forgive me for my kosher transgressions. And if not, the Pope (who doesn't keep kosher) will. Or at least not judge me.
