Chaos Theory, or how Hamas ruined my summer

Noted in Jurassic Park on Chaos theory and the butterfly effect, this idea relates that a butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the globe sets off a chain-reaction that causes a tornado somewhere else in the world. How does this relate to me? Hamas took over the Gaza Strip, therefore there will be no Seeds of Peace kids from Gaza. With no Gaza kids, camp will be smaller, with less needs for staff. So I got the boot 4 days before camp started. I was already hired, signed a contract and set to leave, when I got an email saying that I no longer had a job. So my summer plans just got shot, and I will be stuck at home because of events happening a world away.

It is official, I am moving to Argentina in the fall. I bought my one-way ticket today. Why, you may ask? I'm heading down to the old Argentine to hunt Nazis. Actually, I have always wanted to go there.

Also because when I was looking at the map above my bed- with pins in all the places I have been- South America was the continent with the least amount of pins in it(except for Australia). Not sure what I will be doing down there. Learn to tango, eat tons of steak and write about the Jewish communities of South America. Maybe teach English, maybe not.

This trip will be a little different, as I am not in constant motion but rather planning on getting a place to live and be semi-settled in Buenos Aires. Find a job, etc. But I could decide to move on to Chile or Peru if I decide I need a break from Argentina. Possibly even Brazil. My ultimate goal would somehow be to travel back to the states by going up Latin America. Not sure how I will work that out, but we shall see. For now, I am just happy to be heading to the most southern place of my travels. Journey on.
